Most nightclubs require you to pay a cover charge (generally between 100-200 pesos per male - females usually don't pay cover). It is such a competitive market, night clubs are constantly reinventing themselves and places that are packed one weekend are deserted the next.

El Colmillo

This is already a classic underground Mexico City nightclub in Roma neighborhood where you can find talented live DJs playing the best electronic music. Downstairs there's house music and DJs are often invited. Upstairs they often have live jazz.

El Hotel

This is the classic fashioned Mexico City nightclub, one of the most crowded with young night lovers eager to be in when it comes to partying. If you like pop and electronic music, you cant miss it! However, we recommend you to get there early, since it is usually full.

You can also check out the Avant Garde in the Condesa if you're up for some hard-core partying in a minimalist setting and with some great DJs, both local and foreign. Another option is the Rioma, a very chic nightclub/lounge located right on Insurgentes Sur in the Condesa. Beware; they're very picky at the door.
