Jalisco Attractions

Jalisco state- Capital

Apart from the Capital city there are other attractions and towns found within the State of Jalisco. They are:

Tlaquepaque

Location: In the suburbs

Tlaquepaque is a neat small town, whose residents have long been artisans and craftspeople, specializing in ceramics and glassware. They have opened a number of upscale art galleries that are interesting to browse. A couple of recent bed and breakfasts make it possible for travellers to stay outside of the big city of Guadalajara, although one should not necessary expect a restful night, with the local mariachi playing very loud.

Parks

Location: Northeast of Guadalajara

Jalisco offers two large parks ideal for hiking and extreme sports. Barranca de Huentitan, located just seven miles northeast of Guadalajara, is a favorite for adventure sports, and the Tequila Volcano, a 9,580-foot-high peak near the town of Tequila, is most frequented by hang-gliders.

Tonala

Location: Tonala Town

Its translated name, “Place where the sun rises” gives you the essence of this picturesque villa. Lasting tradition and the creativity of its people are reflected in the beauty of Tonala's crafts whose shapes, colors and liveliness are modeled after the sun.
