Towns in Morelos

Morelos state - Capital

Apart from the Capital city there are other attractions and towns found within the State of Morelos. They are:

Cuautla

Location: southeast of Cuernavaca

CuautlaCuautla is the state's second city and also the second largest city in the state with ever growing population, standing out with many thermal waters health resorts, and it's characteristic climate, similar to Cuernavaca it might be as well called the city of the eternal spring, it is also surrounded with many archeological sites,such as chalcatzingo,axochiapan tepoztlan,yautepec,and tetelcingo,

it was also place to one of the bravest and fiercest battles during the Mexican independence from the Spanish control between the spaniards and the rebelds back then called insurgents which begun on february 19th and ended on may 2nd in the year 1812.


Jiutepec

Location: South of Cuernavaca

The city serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipality of the same name. The municipality reported 170 589 inhabitants in the year 2000 census.


Temixco

Location: Northeast of Cuernavaca

The city serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipality, with which it shares a name. The municipality reported 92,850 inhabitants in the year 2000 census.
