Sinaloa and means a kind of round Pithaya. Sinaloa is a privileged land in Mexico, as much for its territorial extension as for the natural wealth that it has.

Sinaloa is the number one producer of vegetables and the second leading producer of cereal in the nation. Over three quarters of the state's landmass is devoted to agricultural production. Sinaloa is also heavily reliant on tourism.

With a warm climate, abundant fishing and hundreds of miles of coastline and beaches, it's no wonder that Sinaloa is a popular vacation destination. Culturally, it is known for a style of music known as banda.

One of the most interesting and important cultural expressions of the American continent take place in Sinaloa: It is the only place in the continent where the ancient ball game of Mesoamerica is still played;

The Sinaloa version of the ball game is called Ulama. There are efforts to avoid the extinction of this (at least) 3,500-years old unique tradition by supporting the communities and children that still play it.
